Product Description
Merlot is the grape this house was founded on. When Dan and Margaret Duckhorn planted in Napa in 1976, they bet on a variety most of the valley considered a blending component, and the wine that resulted did more than almost any other to establish American Merlot as serious.
Plum, black cherry and cassis lead, with cocoa, soft tannin and a long, polished finish. Give it thirty minutes open, or decant it. Serve at around 62 degrees with roast lamb, duck, mushroom dishes or a good steak. A benchmark bottle for anyone who wrote Merlot off years ago.
