Product Description
Napa Valley fruit, blended across the valley floor and hillside sites Duckhorn has worked since the mid-1970s. This is the wine that anchors the estate, made in the same restrained style every year, and it remains the reference point most American Merlot is measured against.
The palate runs to ripe plum, blackberry and dark cherry, with notes of cocoa and sweet spice and tannins that are firm but polished. Open it thirty minutes ahead. Serve slightly below room temperature with braised short ribs, lamb, duck breast or mushroom risotto. It will also reward a few years in a cool closet.
