Product Description
Tannat is one of the most tannic grapes in the world and Merlot is one of the softest, so putting them in the same bottle is a sensible piece of blending. The Merlot fills in the middle, the Tannat supplies grip and structure, and Echo Indigo lands on a red with more backbone than its price bracket usually allows.
Dark and firm, with blackberry, plum, a graphite edge and tannins that want food rather than a quiet armchair. Open it half an hour early and pour it with steak, lamb chops, sausages off the grill or a hard aged cheese. A good weeknight red for anyone who finds soft reds forgettable.
