Product Description
Extra anejo is tequila at its most patient: a minimum of three years in oak, and in this case rather longer. Everything else about the making is deliberately old-fashioned, from the stone tahona that crushes the cooked agave to the fibers left in the fermentation tank. Very little tequila is still made this way.
Deep amber, with dried fig, cocoa, caramel, tobacco leaf and a whisper of the original agave still audible beneath the wood. The finish is long, warm and dry. Pour it neat in a good glass and give it time; it belongs beside a fine cognac or an aged single malt, not in a cocktail.
