Product Description
Escudo Rojo is the Rothschild family's Chilean project, and the name is a direct translation of their own: red shield. The Baronesa is one of the more serious wines in the range, a Bordeaux-minded blend made from Chilean fruit, with French technique applied to South American sunshine.
The 2019 is dark and structured, with cassis, black plum, graphite and a cedar-and-tobacco edge from time in oak, finishing firm and long. Decant it for an hour and serve with grilled red meat, braised short ribs or aged cheese. It has the stuffing to improve for several more years in a cool cupboard.
