Product Description
Plum wine is one of the easiest drinks in any store to enjoy and one of the least understood. It is made by steeping whole plums in a neutral base with sugar, which produces something amber, syrupy and gently alcoholic rather than a fermented fruit wine. Fuki bottles a classic version, and a single bottle covers dessert, cocktails and after dinner drinking for a good while.
Sweet and rounded, with candied plum, apricot and a tangy edge that keeps the sugar in check. Serve it chilled in a small glass, over ice, or lengthened with soda water for something lighter. It is excellent with Japanese food, sits beautifully alongside dessert, and makes a fine base for a highball.
