Product Description
Sweet red wine has an enormous audience that the wine press rarely writes about. Gallo Family Vineyards makes one of the most widely poured versions, a soft California red with the tannin turned down and the fruit turned up, and the 1.5 liter bottle is how most people buy it. There is no pretense here, which is a good part of the appeal.
Ripe berry and black cherry, openly sweet, smooth and low in tannin, with a short and clean finish. Serve it slightly chilled rather than at room temperature. It handles barbecue, pizza, spicy sausage and chocolate dessert comfortably. A good introduction to red wine for anyone put off by dryness.
