Product Description
Hearty Burgundy is a piece of American wine history. Gallo launched it in the 1960s, and at one point critics were placing it alongside far more expensive bottles, which did a great deal to convince ordinary Americans that decent wine was within reach. The name borrows from France, but the wine has always been a California red blend.
Medium bodied and soft, with ripe red and black fruit, a little spice and a smooth, mellow finish. Serve it lightly cool. It was made for the kind of food people actually cook, so pour it with spaghetti and meatballs, roast chicken, stew, or a plate of cheese and bread.
