Product Description
Gewurztraminer takes its name from Tramin, a village in Alto Adige, and Girlan farms just up the road from it in the same alpine corner of northern Italy. That is about as close to the source as this grape gets, and the cooperative has been working these slopes since 1923.
The 2020 is unmistakable from the first sniff: lychee, rose petal, ripe apricot and a dusting of baking spice, with a full, almost oily texture and a dry finish that keeps it from feeling heavy. Serve it cold but not frigid. It is one of the few wines that can stand up to Thai curry, smoked fish, washed-rind cheese or foie gras.
