Product Description
Campbeltown once had more than thirty distilleries and now has three. Glen Scotia is one of the survivors, working out of the same Victorian buildings on the western edge of Scotland since 1832, and its 15 Year Old is the bottling that best explains why the region still matters to serious drinkers.
Fifteen years in oak on the coast produces something both rich and saline: vanilla, toffee and dried fruit over a distinct maritime note, with a hint of oil and brine on a long, warming finish. At forty-six percent it takes a few drops of water gracefully. Pour it neat in a Glencairn and give it room; this is a whisky to sit with.
