Product Description
Sherry casks are expensive, slow and increasingly scarce, and GlenDronach has refused to compromise on them since 1826. The 12 Year Old Original is the entry point to that philosophy: matured entirely in Spanish oak, split between Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks, at a Highland distillery that has never treated sherry maturation as a finishing trick.
The whisky is dark and generously sweet without being heavy, with raisin, fig, dark chocolate, orange peel and a dusting of cinnamon over a firm oak spine. At forty-three percent it is full enough to sip neat and forgiving enough for a single cube. Serve it after dinner, ideally with something chocolate nearby.
