Product Description
GlenDronach has made sherry-matured whisky in the Highlands since 1826, and its Port Wood release borrows a different kind of fortified cask to see what changes. Spirit raised in the traditional house style is transferred into port pipes for a final stretch, and the result is among the more distinctive bottlings the distillery puts out.
The port influence shows immediately: red berry, dark cherry and plum layered over the distillery core of dried fruit, chocolate and toasted nut, finishing rich, sweet-edged and long. Bottled at forty-six percent. Pour it neat in a tulip glass after dinner and treat it the way you would a good dessert wine, slowly and in small measures.
