There is a reason the stag on this label is recognized in bars from Chicago to Tokyo. Glenfiddich 12 Year Old built the single malt category as a consumer product, and the distillery in Dufftown has stayed in the same family since William Grant laid the first stone in 1887.
Twelve years in American oak and European sherry casks produces the Speyside profile in its cleanest form: pear, green apple, a touch of butterscotch and gentle oak spice, with a smooth, lightly sweet finish. Bottled at forty percent. It is the most useful malt on a shelf, good neat, good over ice, and genuinely good stretched into a soda Highball on a warm evening.
