Product Description
Aging wine in bourbon barrels was a curiosity a decade ago and is now a category of its own. The 1924 label from Lodi takes ripe California Cabernet Sauvignon and rests it in charred barrels that previously held bourbon, borrowing a layer of sweetness and smoke the grape alone does not provide.
The effect is bold: blackberry and dark cherry wrapped in vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and a distinct whiff of bourbon warmth, with a full body and a long, sweet-edged finish. Serve it at cool room temperature in a large glass. Built for grilled ribeye, smoked brisket, barbecue sauce and anything off charcoal, and a good bottle for whiskey drinkers.
