Grey Goose builds its vodka from French winter wheat and water drawn through Champagne limestone, and the orange expression starts in exactly the same place before real citrus essence goes in. No sugar, no syrup, nothing that tastes like candy.
The nose is fresh-cut orange peel; the palate stays dry, with a soft wheat body carrying clean citrus into the finish. It makes a far better screwdriver than it has any right to, shines in a cosmopolitan, and is at its best with soda and a wide twist over ice.
