Product Description
Gusano Rojo is one of the original worm-in-the-bottle mezcals, and it has long outlasted the joke by simply being decent mezcal. The agave is roasted in earthen pits before distillation, which is where the smoke that defines the whole category comes from.
Smoky and earthy on the palate, with roasted agave, green pepper and a dry, mineral finish. Sip it slowly at room temperature alongside orange slices and salt, the traditional way. It also brings real character to a smoky margarita, for anyone who finds tequila a little too polite.
