Hangar 1 operates out of a former naval hangar on San Francisco Bay and approaches vodka more like a distiller of eau-de-vie than a maker of neutral spirit. The rosé bottling blends the base vodka with real California rosé wine, which is where both the color and the character come from.
Pale pink, with strawberry, watermelon and a dry, faintly floral finish that sidesteps the candied trap most flavored vodkas fall into. Mix it with soda and a lemon twist, build a spritz, or shake it into a summer cocktail. It reads as much like wine as spirit.
