Soju is the drink Korea pours at the table rather than at the bar — shared, poured for others, refilled without anyone asking. Hanjan's blueberry bottling is one of the flavored versions that carried the category abroad: lighter in alcohol than most spirits, and considerably easier to drink.
Sweet-tart blueberry sits over a clean neutral base, with a soft finish and almost no burn behind it. Serve it ice cold in small glasses, next to Korean fried chicken, barbecue, or anything spicy enough to need cooling down. It also makes a very simple highball with soda.
