The 2023 release of the Hennessy X.O collaboration with Kim Jones, whose redesign of the house carafe turned it into a collector piece rather than a seasonal repackage. Inside is the same X.O blend Hennessy has built its top shelf around, a marriage of long-matured eaux-de-vie assembled in French oak, so what is new here is entirely the presentation and the scarcity.
Rich and layered on the palate: dried fruit, cocoa, sweet spice and leather, closing slowly and warmly. Drink it neat at room temperature. For anyone who buys Cognac partly for the bottle, this is the one worth chasing.
