Product Description
Herman Story built its reputation on big, unhedged Central Coast reds and labels that refuse to take themselves seriously. Russell From works in the Rhone idiom — Syrah and Grenache handled with a heavy hand and no apology — and the cult following the winery enjoys is entirely earned. The 2019 vintage carries the concentration the house is known for, with enough time behind it to have knit together.
Expect a dark, brooding core of blackberry and plum, with smoked meat, black olive, pepper and a generous measure of new-oak vanilla. The tannin is plush, the finish long and warm. Serve it with short ribs or a dry-aged steak.
