Product Description
Nuts and Bolts is Herman Story’s Syrah, and the name is a fair description of the approach: no frills, no hedging, all engine. Russell From sources from Central Coast vineyards and makes wine at full volume, which has earned the label a following among drinkers who consider restrained Syrah a waste of good fruit. The 2019 is textbook for the house.
Inky and savoury — blackberry and black plum wrapped in smoked meat, olive, graphite and cracked pepper, with sweet oak underneath and tannin that coats rather than grips. Decant it, then pour it with something substantial off the grill, ideally with char on it.
