Ultra is the odd one in the Herradura range, and deliberately so: an extra-aged tequila filtered clear, so the colour tells you nothing about the time it actually spent in barrel. The idea is to keep the depth long oak ageing brings while presenting it in a lighter, more polished frame. The 375ml is a sensible way to decide whether the trick works for you.
Silky and sweet-leaning: honeyed agave, vanilla, toasted almond and a little dried pear, finishing soft and long. Serve it neat and slightly below room temperature. A fine bottle for dessert, or for converting a vodka drinker.
