Product Description
Chardonnay from the value end of the Hess portfolio, made in the ripe, rounded California mode rather than the lean one. Hess has been in the Napa hills long enough to know what buyers of an everyday white actually want, and this delivers it: some oak, some texture, and none of the austerity that makes lesser Chardonnay hard work.
Yellow apple, ripe pear and citrus with vanilla and a soft, creamy mouthfeel, finishing gently. The 2019 is fully mature at this point, so drink it rather than store it. Serve cold with roast chicken, crab cakes, buttered corn, or a simple cream-sauce pasta.
