Product Description
Piesporter Goldtropfchen is one of the Mosel’s most storied vineyard sites — a steep, slate-covered amphitheatre above the river that has been prized for Riesling for centuries. Spatlese means the grapes were picked late, which in this part of Germany buys concentration and a touch of natural sweetness rather than weight. A classic style that has quietly come back into fashion.
The wine is modest in alcohol and high in charm: white peach, apricot, honeysuckle and lime, with slate minerality and bright acidity holding the sweetness in check. Serve it very cold, on its own as an aperitif or alongside spicy Thai food, Sichuan dishes or a fruit tart.
