Product Description
Monastrell is the grape the rest of the world calls Mourvedre, and in the baked, arid vineyards of southeastern Spain it makes reds of surprising depth for very little money. Honoro Vera comes from the Gil family, who have spent two decades demonstrating that Jumilla can punch several tiers above its price. Organically farmed and completely unpretentious.
Dark and juicy: blackberry, black plum and a note of dried herbs, with soft tannin, a hint of cocoa and a savoury close. There is no reason to age it. Drink it with grilled meats, chorizo, lamb chops, a burger, or a hard sheep’s cheese, served a touch below room temperature.
