Product Description
Black Barrel is the most interesting thing Hornitos makes. Rather than settle for a single cask, the tequila moves through a three-stage barrel regime — a standard rest, then deeply charred oak, then toasted oak — borrowing techniques straight out of the bourbon playbook. The intent is a tequila that appeals to whiskey drinkers without pretending to be whiskey.
It works. Expect dark caramel, toasted vanilla, cocoa, a real char note and a long warm finish over cooked agave. Serve it neat or over one big cube. One of the very few affordable tequilas that builds a convincing old fashioned.
