Product Description
Merlot spent two decades out of fashion for reasons that had more to do with a movie than with the grape, and bottles like this are why the tide turned back. Ironstone builds it soft and plush with the rough edges sanded off, aiming squarely at drinkability rather than at a cellar. It is the least demanding red in the lineup and often the first one emptied.
Black cherry and red plum up front, mocha and sweet spice behind, finishing with tannins so gentle they barely register. Serve it slightly cool. Reach for it with roast chicken, meatloaf, pizza, or a Tuesday burger eaten standing at the counter.
