Product Description
A Cabernet with well over a decade in the bottle, which is a rare thing to find on an open shelf at a sensible price. Time does things to Cabernet that no winemaking technique can imitate: tannins loosen, primary fruit recedes, and savory notes step forward. If you have never tried an older red, this is an inexpensive education.
Expect dried black fruit, cedar, leather and tobacco leaf where a young wine would show cassis, finishing soft and faintly dusty. Stand the bottle upright for a day, pour gently to leave any sediment behind, and drink it the evening you open it. Best with simply roasted beef or lamb.
