Lynchburg registered its distillery in 1866, making it the first registered distillery in the United States, and this special edition was built to mark the century and a half that followed. Jack Daniel's rarely departs from its core bottling, so an anniversary release is a genuine event: the same charcoal-mellowing process the distillery has always used, presented in commemorative packaging aimed at people who keep the bottle after the whiskey is gone.
