Product Description
Gamay is the grape that made Beaujolais famous and then, for a while, unfashionable. The Villages designation is where the region redeems itself: fruit drawn from the better hillside communes rather than the flat valley floor, giving real substance without losing the lift. Maison Louis Jadot, a Burgundian house founded in 1859, brings a steady hand to a wine that is too often made carelessly.
Bright raspberry and cherry lead, with a dusting of pepper, gentle tannin and mouth-watering acidity. Serve it cool, around cellar temperature, and it becomes one of the most versatile reds in the shop. Ideal with charcuterie, roast chicken, salmon or a cheese board.
