Jameson is triple distilled from a blend of single pot still and fine grain whiskeys, then matured in seasoned oak, and it has spent more than two centuries becoming the most familiar name in Irish whiskey for a simple reason: smooth enough for a first pour, honest enough for a hundredth. At 1.75 litres it is the format for a long weekend or a properly stocked bar cart.
Light, soft and faintly sweet, with orchard fruit, vanilla and a nutty spice edge. Neat, on the rocks, with ginger ale, or stretched long with soda and lime.
