Napa Valley Cabernet at this scale is a small-production game, and JAX works it from estate and grower fruit with a winemaking hand that favours polish over power. The wine is built the way good Napa Cabernet should be: ripe fruit picked with enough acidity to carry it, then time in French oak to knit everything together. It reads as serious without demanding a decade in the cellar.
Cassis, black cherry and plum lead, framed by cedar, cocoa and fine-grained tannin that firms up on the finish. Give it thirty minutes in a decanter and serve alongside ribeye, short ribs or aged cheddar. A bottle for a good dinner rather than a Tuesday.
