In 1934 King George V granted the Walker firm a Royal Warrant, and this blend was created to commemorate it, drawing on the kind of whisky stocks that would have been available to the blenders of that era. It is one of the most expensive expressions the house makes, presented in a decanter and case designed to match the occasion. Bottles at this level are bought once, for a reason, and remembered.
Deep and old-fashioned in the best sense: honeyed fruit, sandalwood, dried orange, dark chocolate and a slow wave of peat smoke on an extremely long finish. Serve it neat in a fine glass, with nothing but a drop of still water and time. For a retirement, a major anniversary, or a whisky collector's shelf.
