Every component whisky in this blend has been aged at least that long, and the extra time trades away the pepper and brightness of younger Scotch in exchange for weight, depth and a remarkably smooth mouthfeel. Dried fig, toffee, dark chocolate and orange peel unfold slowly over a soft wood smoke, finishing long and quietly warming. Serve it neat in a tulip glass, no ice, with perhaps one drop of water. A bottle for unhurried evenings and for people who will sit with it.
