Product Description
Cassis and cocoa arrive first, then the oak, then a slow warmth that explains the name. Hearth is the richer Cabernet in the Josh Cellars lineup, given more time in barrel and built for the half of the year when the oven is already on. It costs a little more than the standard bottling and tastes like the difference was spent well.
Full-bodied without turning heavy, with dark plum, dried fig, clove and a smoky edge over tannins polished smooth. Decant it for twenty minutes if you have them. Pot roast, lamb shank, a mushroom-heavy pasta or a wedge of hard cheese will all meet it comfortably.
