Product Description
Priorat's vineyards grow on llicorella, a blue-grey slate that splits under the heat and forces vines to send their roots deep for water. Juan Gil named this wine after that stone, and the reference is not decorative: the mineral spine running through the glass is exactly what separates Priorat from every other red wine region in Spain.
Concentrated and structured, with black fruit, dried herbs, dark chocolate and a flinty undercurrent, over tannins that want either air or a substantial plate of food. Decant it for an hour. Roast lamb, oxtail, mature cheese or meat grilled over coals will all stand up to it.
