Kendall-Jackson makes its Merlot from coastal California fruit in a plush, welcoming style - soft where Cabernet is firm, and far easier to drink on its own without anything on the plate.
Red plum, black cherry and blackberry sit over chocolate, vanilla and a little dried herb, with round tannins and a smooth medium-long finish. No decanting required. Serve it with roast pork, meatloaf, mushroom pasta, a burger or a wedge of brie. One of the most approachable reds in the range.
