Product Description
Pinotage exists because a South African scientist crossed Pinot Noir with Cinsault in 1925, and nearly a century later it remains the country's signature red. Kadette comes from Kanonkop, the Stellenbosch estate that did more than any other to convince the wider world the grape deserved to be taken seriously. This is its most accessible bottling.
Expect dark plum, mulberry and the distinctive smoky, faintly tarry note that only Pinotage delivers, plus a little mocha from oak and a firm, savory finish. It is made for fire: grilled lamb, spiced sausage, barbecue, or a burger with sharp cheese. Serve it just below room temperature.
