Jess Jackson's founding idea was to buy fruit from cool coastal vineyards instead of the hot interior, and four decades later that one decision still explains why Kendall-Jackson's reds taste the way they do. The Cabernet carries more freshness and structure than its shelf price would predict, which is the whole reason it keeps moving.
Dark berry fruit, cassis and plum over cedar, cocoa and a thread of sweet oak spice, with firm ripe tannins and a finish of real length. It calls for protein: ribeye, lamb chops, a good burger, short ribs, or a plate of hard aged cheese. Give it some air before the first pour.
