Product Description
Plum wine is made by steeping whole plums in a sweetened base, a style built around the tart Japanese ume, and Kikkoman has produced a widely available version of it for decades. It is a sweet wine, unapologetically so, and it works best treated as a dessert pour or an aperitif rather than something to drink through dinner.
Amber-gold in the glass, with candied plum, apricot and a light almond note across a syrupy but clean finish. Serve it well chilled in a small glass, or over ice with a twist of lemon to cut the sweetness. Very good alongside sushi, teriyaki, salty snacks, fruit desserts or a wedge of blue cheese.
