Sweet and pink is a combination that sells itself, and Korbel makes a straightforward version of it in the same Sonoma County cellars that have been producing bottle-fermented sparkling wine since the 1880s. This is party wine in the best sense: cheerful in the glass, forgiving on the palate, priced for more than one bottle.
Strawberry, raspberry and ripe watermelon come through clearly, over a soft mousse and a sweet finish. Serve ice cold in a flute, or over ice with a sprig of mint if the day is hot. Pairs with brunch, berries and cream, or nothing at all. A go-to for celebrations that do not need a wine list.
