Moscato d'Asti comes from the hills of Piedmont in northwest Italy, where Moscato Bianco is picked early and fermented only partway, leaving a lightly fizzy, low-alcohol wine that Italians have treated as a dessert staple for generations. La Ardilla offers the style without ceremony or markup.
The nose is unmistakable: orange blossom, peach, honeysuckle and ripe grape. The palate is gently sweet with a soft prickle rather than full sparkling pressure, and it finishes light on its feet.
