Product Description
Orvieto has been making white wine since the Etruscans, and the DOC still turns out one of central Italy's most useful everyday whites: a blend built around Trebbiano and Grechetto, grown on volcanic soils in Umbria. La Lecciaia keeps it clean, dry and unoaked, which is exactly what the style asks for.
Expect pear, white peach and lemon pith with a faintly bitter almond finish and a chalky texture. Serve well chilled. A natural for antipasti, fried artichokes, seafood pasta, prosciutto or a simple roast fish, and it costs little enough to open on an ordinary Wednesday.
