Product Description
Brunello di Montalcino is Sangiovese taken as far as the grape will go: one commune in southern Tuscany, one variety, and a legal minimum of five years before a bottle may be sold. La Mannella is a small family estate working just outside the town of Montalcino, and its Brunello is made with the patience the appellation demands.
Expect dried cherry, leather, tobacco and sweet balsamic herbs over firm, chalky tannins and a very long finish. Decant for an hour and serve in a large glass at cool room temperature. Bistecca, wild boar ragu and aged pecorino are the classic partners, though it also rewards simply being left alone in a rack.
