Product Description
Once a year Lagavulin takes its standard malt and gives it a second maturation in casks that previously held Pedro Ximenez sherry, one of the darkest and sweetest wines in Spain. The Distillers Edition is the result: the same smoke, now set against a layer of dried fruit and dark sugar.
The effect is closer to bitter chocolate and raisin than to the seaside austerity of the core range, with peat smoke underneath it all and a long, warming finish. Pour it neat in a copita, add a drop of water, and give it time. A serious after-dinner whisky for a cold evening.
