Prosecco earned its place by being cheerful, affordable and nearly impossible to get wrong, and La Marca is the label most Americans picture when they hear the word. It comes from a cooperative of Veneto growers working with Glera in the tank method, which keeps the wine fresh and floral rather than bready.
Apple, pear and honeysuckle come through clearly, over a fine, soft bubble and an off-dry finish. Serve it very cold. Pour it on its own before dinner, with prosciutto and melon, or as the base of a spritz. The reliable answer when something needs celebrating and nobody wants to think hard about it.
