Product Description
Robert Mondavi pointed the Horgan family toward this patch of Margaret River in the early 1970s, and the Art Series Chardonnay that followed became one of the few Australian whites spoken of in the same breath as white Burgundy. Each release carries a commissioned painting on the label, which is where the Artist name comes from. Very few New World Chardonnays age this gracefully.
The profile is taut rather than tropical: white peach, grapefruit pith and citrus blossom over barrel-fermented depth and a long, mineral close. Serve it cool but not ice cold, in a proper glass, alongside scallops, crab or roast chicken.
