Product Description
Two master blenders, one from Kentucky and one from Japan, built this bottle together. Legent starts as Kentucky straight bourbon, then a portion is finished separately in wine and sherry casks before the whole thing is blended back together, a technique borrowed straight from the Japanese whisky playbook. At 47 percent it is bottled with enough strength to carry the fruit that the secondary casks contribute.
Caramel and toasted oak sit alongside dried cherry, raisin and a nutty sherry note, closing dry with soft baking spice. Neat in a tulip glass shows the cask influence clearly, and it makes a superb Manhattan or boulevardier. For the bourbon drinker curious about what a blender can do after the barrel.
