Lobos 1707 finishes its agave spirits in Pedro Ximenez wine barrels, an unusual choice in tequila and the thread that runs through the entire range. The Extra Añejo is the most patient expression in that lineup, and the barrel influence is unmistakable by the time it reaches the glass. A bottle bought for slow drinking, not for mixing.
Rich and layered, with dried fig, toffee, roasted agave, cocoa and a warm oak-spice finish. Serve it neat in a stemmed glass at room temperature, no ice. An after-dinner pour, and a strong gift for a whiskey or rum drinker ready to cross over.
