Product Description
On the western tip of Sicily, the town of Marsala lent its name to one of the great fortified wines of the Mediterranean, and Cantine Lombardo has worked there for generations. This bottling belongs to a tradition older than most of what sits in the fortified aisle: sun-ripened Sicilian grapes, fortified with spirit, then rested until the flavors turn deep, nutty and unmistakable.
Look for dried apricot, toasted almond, caramel and a warm, faintly saline finish. Pour a small measure after dinner, or keep it near the stove, because Marsala is indispensable in the kitchen and turns an ordinary pan sauce into something richer.
